Very Successful Funding Round For Autograph

The NFT platform that Tom Brady co-funds, Autograph, raises 170 million dollars through a Series B funding round. Moreover, the round was co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

Aside from Brady, Horowitz and Perkins, the two other co-participants in the funding round are Nicole Quinn, senior partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Katie Haun with her new crypto capital venture company. Additionally, Haun is also known for her previous work with a16z.

In addition to Katie Haun, the other three members from a16z that will join the board of directors at Autograph through investment are general partners Chris Dixon and Arianna Simpson, as well as Ilya Fushman, also a partner at a16z.

When speaking on the newly assembled team of board directors, Katie Haun expressed excitement concerning the quality of the people involved.

Considering that pretty much everyone already jumped on the NFT bandwagon, Tom Brady is one of the increasing numbers of athletes that openly endorse crypto. In fact, Brady and his spouse Giselle Bundchen,   even own a stake at FTX, one of the leading crypto exchanges in the world.

Furthermore, Brady is also familiar with NFTs, being that he and Autograph already released and non-fungible token collection in 2021. Hence, it is no surprise that Tom Brady is also part of the board of directors at Autograph as well.

Which is why the news that Autograph raises 170 million dollars via a Series B funding round include Tom Brady, are definitely not a surprise.

In addition to Brady, Autograph released NFT collectables for celebrities such as The Weeknd, Naomi Osaka, Tiger Woods, Derek Jeter, Simone Biles and Tony Hawk. Interestingly, The Weeknd is another celebrity that is part of the board of directors at Autograph.

All it takes is one look at the Autograph team and it is no surprise as to how the NFT marketplace managed to collaborate with such prominent names. This consequently, is why Autograph managed to establish itself as one of the biggest players in the NFT industry. And all of that in less than one year, or since July 2021.
