The NFL franchise Tennessee Titans announced that starting from today, they are the first team in the history of the league to accept bitcoin payments for both recurring, and large-scale purchases and services. In order to provide bitcoin payments, the Titans partnered with UTXO Management, a digital assets fund that operates from Nashville, Tennessee.

Moreover, the official statement of the Tennessee Titans states that the new partnership with UTXO Management sets the stage for various bitcoin payments for a list of services, as well as events at the Nissan Stadium, the official grounds of the franchise.

In particular, the partnership will cover bitcoin payments for services such as purchasing season tickets, sponsorship opportunities, suits, as well as obtaining personal seat licenses. In the beginning, the Titans will only approve bitcoin payments for recurring payments and large purchases alone.

However, the Titans have plans to include a wide range of smaller-scale bitcoin payments in the future that will include team merchandise, single-tickets, and at-stadium food and drinks purchases.

According to one of the partners at UTXO Management, David Bailey, who also is the CEO at BTC Inc, this is an opportunity of a lifetime for the company, with special emphasis of how proud is the CEO to land a professional football league team as a partner.

We’re proud to partner with the Tennessee Titans as they start their Bitcoin journey and offer fans a new way to pay. 2022 is a special year as we continue to work with professional sports teams to help educate and further mass adoption of Bitcoin. While the Tennessee Titans do become the first team in NFL history to accept bitcoin payments, they are not the first team to be affiliated with a blockchain operator.

In fact, back in May of 2021, the New York Giants signed a partnership deal with Grayscale, one of the leading digital asset management software companies in the world, with the firm later even becoming the official “Presenting Sponsor” of the New York-based NFL franchise.
