One of the biggest multinational e-commerce brands, Shopify, will allow users to both mint and trade NFTs on its website/platform. This project will bear the name NFT Beta, and in the beginning, it will be exclusively available for U.S. merchants.

Moreover, Spotify also states that users are not limited to minting NFTs solely on their platform. In fact, the company allows users to mint NFTs on several different NFT platforms like Polygon, Flow, Near and Ethereum.

In order to pull its first NFT venture, Shopify turns to a well-known name in the token world, GigLabs. For that matter, the former will provide the knowledge and the tools, and Shopify will provide the platform.

Consequently, merchants will be able to choose how they want to purchase the NFTs. This includes methods such as Shop Pay, Shopify Payments, credit/debit cards and crypto. According to Shopify, users will receive their NFTs via email.

Plus, customers can easily claim their NFTs via email and add them directly to their wallets.Shopify Official Statement

While this is the first NFTs venture ever for Shopify, it certainly is not the first crypto experience. As a matter of fact, back in 2020, the e-commerce company partnered with BTCPay to integrate crypto payments in their stores. Specifically, bitcoin.

According to the founder of Superelastic, Paul Budnitz, Shopify has an ‘amazing’ platform. In addition, he further praises Shopify’s platform, since it was the birthplace of the founder’s rather successful NFTs collection – Janky and Guggimon.

Judging by the numbers behind NFTs, 2022 is going to be one exciting year.

Not only do more and more companies become part of the token craze, but a lot of everyday people want a piece of the action as well. We cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store for us, crypto-wise.
