The electronics giant from South Korea, Samsung, will partner with Nifty Gateway in order to produce the very anticipated NFT TV models, which the company announced back in January of 2022. Back then, Samsung announced that the company is working to create the first TV that will support NFT technology and that they plan to release three different models, including MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame TVs.
According to the official statement of NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway, which by the way is owned by one of the leading crypto exchanges Gemini, this collaboration will “develop the first-ever smart TV NFT platform for exploring, purchasing and trading digital art and collectables”.
Moreover, the official statement also reminds us that Nifty Gateway is already part of the Samsung 2022 premium product lineup that includes TVs Neo QLED and QLED. And that due to this convenience, “customers can seamlessly browse, display and interact with NFTs from the comfort of their couch”.
In addition, the official announcement also reveals that the users will have access to an extensive list of more than 6.000 NFTs, all from some of the best creators and artists in the world such as Daniel Arsham, Beeple, Pak, etc.
Furthermore, one of the co-founders of Nifty Gateway, Duncan Cock Foster, states that the ultimate goal of the joint cooperation is to make NFT technology accessible to a ‘billion people’ around the world. In particular, they are preparing to release a very user-friendly NFT marketplace, that will make buying non-fungible tokens “more seamless than ever before”.
Being that the goal is to create the ultimate people’s NFT marketplace, the co-founder went on to show his excitement for the opportunity to partner with a big name such as Samsung, and to praise the ability of the electronics company to provide a one-of-a-kind user experience, by creating excellent quality displays.
Speaking on the revolutionary TV that will support NFT technology back in January, Samsung revealed that it prepares to put in production three such models: MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame. Back then, the giant also revealed that their NFT TVs will come with the ‘Smart Calibration’ feature, which will automatically adjust the settings of the TV to render nothing but high-quality images of the NFT artwork.
It remains for either Nifty Gateway or Samsung Electronics to set an actual date for the first NFT TV in history, which undoubtedly will be both a landmark for the industry and one of the biggest digital events of the year.
