Probably the number one payment provider in the world, Mastercard, announced that it will start offering crypto-linked payment cards for the Asia-Pacific region. In order to achieve this historic milestone, Mastercard partners with three crypto service companies.
With this, Mastercard wishes ‘to launch the region’s first crypto-linked payment cards’. The three companies that will assist Mastercard in this venture are Coinjar (Australia), Amber Group (Hong Kong) and Bitkub (Thailand).
These three operators are the first-ever APAC crypto platforms to officially become part of Mastercard’s upcoming Crypto Card Program. Consequently, the goal of the program is to bring fast, reliable and secure payment cards to crypto companies worldwide.
Especially since the number of such companies is practically growing by the day. And, it seems like the Asia-Pacific region is having a crypto-revolution, making for a record number of crypto enthusiasts.
According to the official statement by Mastercard, ‘they will be launching crypto-funded Mastercard payment cards’. Moreover, the statement notes:
This crypto-payment cards project by Mastercard is not the first time that the company cooperates with a crypto services provider. In fact, in October 2021, the payment provider giant partnered with Bakkt, a crypto exchange platform.
Consequently, the goal is to ‘tackle’ the US market, by providing a convenient solution to every entity that wishes to deal with crypto.
As a result, it is safe to say that Mastercard is further cementing as the leading payment provider in the world. And jumping on the crypto ‘bandwagon’ among the first is the right way to ensure that is the case.
