Kanye West, one of the biggest rap stars in the United States, and consequently the world, openly reveals how much he dislikes NFTs technology. And judging by the strong language he used in both the post and the comment, Yeezy fans shouldn’t expect an NFT drop by Kanye West anytime soon.
West used Instagram to criticize the digital nature of NFTs with a rather unsparing post that bashes the technology. Moreover, he shared a picture of a hand-written poem with his 10.5 million followers, openly stating that he much more prefers to operate in the real world, rather than in the digital one.
In addition to wanting to build ‘real products in the real world’, West further posted another critical comment in the description below the image regarding the reason for his anti-NFT stance. This only confirms what the post already makes abundantly clear, and that is that NFT drops are out of the picture.
While the controversial rapper always seems to be at the forefront of most trends, NFT technology is something that we won’t see from Kanye West. And considering the net worth of the rapper, producer and fashion creator so far, it definitely seems like the financial gain won’t play a factor in persuading Kanye.
Another celebrity that is also rather skeptical of NFTs technology and dislikes it like Kanye West, is Hollywood movie star, Keanu Reeves. Back when Reeves was giving an interview for the movie Matrix Resurrections in 2021, he stated that the fault with NFTs is that they can be ‘easily reproduced’.
While Keanu Reeves and Kanye West remain firm with their anti-NFT stance, many other celebrities are literally robbing the bank with the technology. And while there is a long list of celebrities that profited from NFTs, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Jake Paul and Eminem are some of the biggest earners.
