Intel’s First Bitcoin Mining ASIC

One of the leading chip creators in the world, Intel, is preparing to release an ‘ultra-low-voltage’ bitcoin mining ASIC’. Intel prepares to reveal the chip for crypto-mining on the 23rd of February, at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC).

For that matter, Intel prepares an entire presentation regarding the chip release. Moreover, Intel calls the session ‘Bonanza Mine: An Ultra-Low-Voltage Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining ASIC’. Not surprisingly, it is one of the most anticipated events at this year’s ISSCC conference.

The 2022 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference will last from 19th of February, to 26th of February. This year’s conference is called ‘Intelligent Silicon for a Sustainable World’, and it will feature a long list of interesting activities, such as workshops and tutorials.

Entering A New Market

Intel already won the hearts of many members of the crypto community, when it decided not to put mining limits for ether of its graphics cards.

And because Nvidia decided to do the exact opposite, the demand for Intel’s GPUs (graphics processing units) substantially increased during 2021. In addition to gaining a lot of members from the crypto-oriented gaming community as well.

Consequently, this upcoming bitcoin mining ASIC unveiled by Intel will directly launch the company in an entirely new market. Currently, the biggest names in the bitcoin mining ASIC industry are MicroBT and Bitmain.

However, considering Intel’s resources and reputation, it definitely looks like the chipmaker has all it takes to establish itself as one of the best in that department. Whatever the case, one thing is certain. This will definitely benefit the entire bitcoin mining ASIC industry.

And even more beneficial, this may also trigger Intel’s competition to the same. Consequently, the bigger the competition, the better the market, and the happier the customers.
