Actress Gwyneth Paltrow revealed via Twitter that she and Cash App will organize a giveaway of $500.000 in bitcoin during the Christmas holidays.
According to the tweet, the selection procedure will be democratic and transparent, and everyone can participate.
Moreover, when giving an interview for Elle magazine right after posting the tweet, Paltrow further explained how to participate in the bitcoin giveaway.
In addition, she confirms that the selection will be random, with the winners receiving increments of $20 and $100.
Furthermore, the actress states that she hopes her female followers and her Marvel fans will react to this project. In particular, that they will ‘play around with it and trade it’.
However, this bitcoin giveaway of $500.000 is not the first crypto experience for Gwyneth Paltrow. In fact, the actress is quite an entrepreneur, especially in the crypto industry.
As a result, she is one of the main investors in Terawulf, the bitcoin mining enterprise, and serves as an advisor to Abra since 2017.
And we expect this crypto giveaway trend to only continue in 2022. Especially if we consider the number of celebrities that organized similar crypto giveaways during this past year. Some of them include NFL stars, artists and companies alike.
For example, in December of 2020, NFL star quarterback from the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, organized a $1 million bitcoin giveaway.
During that same December, another NFL star, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr also gave away $1 million in bitcoin, via Cash App, similar to the deal with Paltrow.
Considering that this trend is just catching on, it definitely seems like we will see a lot of crypto giveaways in the future. And not only limited to crypto coins. There are already a bunch of ongoing NFT giveaways as we speak.
Whatever the case, it looks like it is going to be an exciting 2022, crypto-wise.
